The duplicate-case check before an offshore agent opens another ticket
Search with safe identifiers and link related contacts without merging different customers.
A repeat contact may already have an owner, deadline, or pending specialist decision. Search the approved fields before opening another case, using the minimum customer identifiers needed for the workflow.
Compare the request, account, contact time, channel, and current status. A similar subject line does not prove two records belong together, and a shared phone number may represent different people.
When records match, link the new interaction and preserve the original owner unless the routing rule requires a change. Never delete history merely to make the queue count look cleaner.
Review duplicates by cause, including search failure, delayed indexing, channel separation, unclear identifiers, or customers seeking an update. Each cause suggests a different operational repair.
