Call center quality sample selection for fair review
Choose call samples that show normal work, risk cases, and changing patterns without turning quality review into a random lottery.
A fair sample mixes ordinary calls with targeted cases: transfers, complaints, long holds, new topics, and calls with a customer promise. Document the selection rule so reviewers can explain why a call was included.
Keep the sample large enough to reveal a pattern and small enough to review carefully. Score the same essential fields across queues, then add a few queue-specific checks that reflect the actual customer risk.
Calibrate reviewers on shared examples and record the reason for a changed score. The goal is a dependable view of service, not a high volume of ratings that no one can turn into coaching.
