The end-of-shift check for open calls and unfinished promises
Reconcile active conversations, callbacks, and escalations before the next team takes over.
Start with work that is still live: connected calls, chats awaiting a customer, promised callbacks, draft emails, and escalations awaiting a decision. Each item needs a current status and next action.
Complete the minimum safe note and identify the owner, deadline, time zone, customer preference, and any authority boundary. A broad statement that the next shift will handle it is not an accepted handoff.
If no receiver is available, follow the supervisor or continuity route before leaving. Do not keep customer data in a personal reminder or extend access outside the approved schedule as an informal workaround.
Supervisors can reconcile open-work reports with accepted handoffs and later outcomes. The purpose is to protect customer commitments and find capacity gaps, not to encourage rushed closures at shift end.
